North Webster Public Library Announcements
Voyager Book Club is on the war path as they converge at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24, to discuss war books that each participant has read. Voyager is a unique kind of book club in that each member reads a different book within an assigned category. Every month the group focuses on a different category. On Monday, the topic is war.
In March, the group will focus on historical fiction. It’s a fun way to discover new books and authors while exploring a variety of subjects.
Nothing hits the spot better than a steaming bowl of homemade soup on a cold winter day. Bring a pot of your favorite homemade soup and join us for Revolving Recipe Round-Up at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25. We’ll be sampling soups, swapping recipes, and enjoying each other’s company. The library provides the table service and free coffee and water. You don’t need a library card to join in, so start cooking!
Do you love to read, but struggle with the small print? You don’t have to give up reading your favorite books. The library has an extensive selection of large print books that makes reading easier. Our collection includes a variety of fiction and non-fiction books by leading authors in all kinds of genres. You’ll find the latest releases as well as timeless classics. The large print books are grouped together in one section so they’re easy to find.
If your family enjoys going to the movies, bring them to Family Movie Time at the Library at 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27. The library will be showing a 3D computer animated movie about a high spirited young falcon who leaves his home in the South African desert to discover action and adventure in the big city of Zambezia where he learns the truth about his origins and, in defending the city, how to be part of a community. The 84-minute movie is rated G, so the whole family can enjoy it. It’s absolutely free, including the popcorn, and you don’t even need a library card to attend.
Preschool Story Time for ages 3-5 is held every Wednesday at 10:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. until the winter session ends on April 9. The kids always have fun with stories, finger plays, and crafts, so stop by the Youth Services Desk or call 574-834-7122 ext. 202 to sign your child up.
