Miller Earns Academic Accolade
TOWSON, Md. – Grace College senior Greg Miller earned his second straight Second Team selection for Capital One Academic All-America®, as chosen by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
The senior forward from Akron, Ind., currently holds a 3.60 GPA as a business administration and sport management major at Grace. Miller was Second Team for the distinguished honor in 2013 as well.
The College Division of the Capital One Academic All-America® basketball teams is comprised of student-athletes from NAIA, Canadian and two-year institutions who have earned at least a 3.3 GPA. Eligible student-athletes are then voted upon based on both athletic and academic accomplishments.
Miller, who was recently honored as the NAIA Division II Player of the Week, is averaging 18.6 points and 9.8 rebounds per game in his final campaign with the Lancers. He leads the Crossroads League in rebounds and ranks No. 9 in the nation. With nine more rebounds, Miller will become the eighth member of Grace’s 1,000 points/1,000 rebounds club.
The Lancers will honor the team’s seniors – Miller, Jared Treadway, Morgan Michalski and student assistant coach Jacob Goodman – on Tuesday night when Grace hosts Mt. Vernon Nazarene at 7 p.m. Grace will then travel to Mishawaka to face rival Bethel in a men’s/women’s doubleheader on Saturday afternoon.
