Velma Mae Hofmann, 88, of North Manchester, Ind., passed away at 4:10 a.m. Sunday, March 9, 2014, in Timbercrest Healthcare Center, North Manchester.

She was born April 9, 1925, in Washington Township, Whitley County, Ind., to Ervin and Margarethe (Kunberger) Pook. On July 29, 1951, she married Erich Hofmann. He died preceded her in death. Velma was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters: Elizabeth (Paul) Contegiacomo, Corrales, N.M.; Carole (Ken) Barlow, Hollywood, Md.; two granddaughters: Nicole Contegiacomo, Corrales, N.M.; Natasha Barlow, Hollywood.

She was proceeded in death by two brothers.
