April’s First Friday event in Warsaw will, for the first time, be a contest to encourage recycling and the winner will earn a cash prize.

To enter the Repurpose, Recycle, Reuse contest and try for the $100 grand prize, contestants must register by Monday, March 31. The premise of the competition is simple: create the best work of art crafted totally of recyclable products.

The top 3 entrants will receive awards, but only one will get the $100 prize.

Rules for the Repurpose, Recycle, Reuse contest are that the creation must not exceed $25 in materials and receipts must be provided, it must fit on an 8-foot table and documentation of the creative process must include photos of the materials before, during and at the conclusion of the construction process. The projects must be displayed during the April 4 First Friday event from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. in downtown Warsaw.
