Hoosiers Cashing In Big Time
The success on the court by the Indiana men’s basketball team a season ago translated into big bucks into the athletic department coffers too.
The Hoosiers were recently cited on a list of the country’s most valuable programs by Forbes.
Forbes ranked IU fifth at $25 million, including almost $17 million in profit.
Forbes used financial information from the 2012-13 season when the Hoosiers won a Big Ten Conference championship and made its second straight appearance in the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament. The results said that IU netted almost $2 million for the Big Ten last season.
Louisville was ranked No. 1 on the list of most valuable programs. Kansas was second, followed by Kentucky, North Carolina and Indiana.
