BBBS Hosts Gourmet Dinner
Big Brothers Bis Sisters Northeast Indiana will host its 41st annual gourmet dinner April 17 at the Grand Wayne Convention Center, 120 W. Jefferson Blvd., Fort Wayne. Reception starts at 6 p.m. with dinner at 6:45 p.m.
Proceeds from the dinner will benefit the organization’s programs and efforts of creating one-to-one matches for young adolescents in the 13 counties they serve. Since 1974, Big Brothers Big Sisters’ gourmet dinner has grown to be one of the area’s premier annual charity events with a guest list of more than 600 of the area’s most notable business and community leaders.
Each year, the gourmet dinner offers its guests a reception, followed by a multi-course gourmet meal, keynote speaker and grand prize giveaway. This year’s keynote speaker will be Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano and the grand prize giveaway is a 2014 Chevy Cruze LT.
In addition, Big Brothers Big Sisters local agency will announce its annual Don Wold Award recipient. Established in 1999, the Don Wolf Award is given to an individual(s) in recognition of their commitment and contribution to youth in the community. Don Wolf, founder and long-time CEO of Do it Best Corp., coordinated the launch of the Big Brothers Big Sisters program in northeast Indiana in 1972.
