Ranae Sue (Curtis) Garber
Ranae Sue (Curtis) Garber, 54, of Pierceton, Ind., passed away at 9:30 a.m. Friday, March 21, 2014, surrounded by her family. She battled melanoma for six months.
She was born April 27, 1959, in Warsaw, Ind., to Gale and Sue (Utter) Curtis. On June 28, 1980, she married Frank D. Garber Jr., who survives.
She graduated from Warsaw High School in 1977 and Grace College in 1991. She taught at Harrison Elementary School in Warsaw for more than 20 years and attended Warsaw First Brethren Church for much of her adult life. More recently she attended Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
She was a generous and loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grammy and friend. She lived her life to the fullest, and enjoyed traveling, teaching, volunteering, shopping and spending time with family.
She is survived by her husband: Frank, Pierceton; two daughters: Rebekah Garber, Pierceton; Chasity (Mike) Delashmutt, Sterling Heights, Mich.; one son: Benjamin (Stephanie) Garber, Carmel, Ind.; six grandchildren; one sister: Angie (John) Strayer, South Whitley, Ind.; and one brother: Chad Curtis, Warsaw.
She was preceded in death by her father.
A celebration of Ranae’s life is planned at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 29, at Harrison Elementary School in Warsaw. Cards, photos and stories are appreciated.
