Alvin R. Lowe
Alvin R. Lowe, 76, of rural Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 10:02 a.m. Friday, March 28, 2014, at Mason Healthcare of Warsaw.
He was born April 19, 1937, in Jamestown, Tenn., to Robert S. and Elizabeth (Hoover) Lowe. On Nov. 18, 1972, in Akron, Ind., he married Thelma Bowling Hively, who survives.
Alvin worked at Akron Foundry for 21 years and also worked at Creighton Brothers. He served his country in the U.S. Army, serving in Korea. He was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church of Silver Lake, Ind. He loved wood working.
He is survived by his wife: Thelma Lowe, Warsaw; a daughter: Lisa Ann Smith, Jamestown, Tenn.; sons: Waldon Glenn Lowe and Jeffrey Allen Lowe, both of Jamestown, Tenn.; stepdaughters: Donna Shoemaker, Louise Owens and Cindy Hively; stepsons: Larry Booth, Bennie Hively and Mickey Hively; three grandchildren; and three sisters: Alta Smith, Ina Crawford and Elva Blevins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a sister.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, Ind. Services will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Rev. Loren Bradley will officiate. Burial is to follow in Harrison Center Cemetery, Etna Green, Ind.
