Hildegard Waschkies, 86, of Warsaw, Ind., passed away at 10:40 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014, in her residence.

She was born Nov. 20, 1927, to Eugene and Anna (Vogel) Kleesattel in Heilbronn, Germany.

She came to America in 1955 and then moved to Warsaw in 1957. She married Horst H. Waschkies in 1955. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Warsaw First United Methodist for many years and a member of Lambda Chi Omega Chapter.

Hildegard is survived by her daughters: Debra Allen, Fort Wayne, Ind.; and Karen (Jim) Higgins, Whitefish Bay, Wisc.; a son: John Waschkies, Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren: Zoe and Nick Higgins, Whitefish, Wisc.; Quinn and Jarrad Allen, Pierceton, Ind.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A celebration of Hildegard’s life will be follow at 11 a.m. with Bob Jarboe officiating the service.
