Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department
Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Wednesday, April 2, 10:17 a.m. North SR 15 and West 600 North, Leesburg. Drivers: Michael L. Lawson, 37, 1 Street, New Paris; and Daniel Klug, 52, Scenic Drive, Bean Station, Tenn. Lawson stated that due to exhaustion he failed to stop at the stop sign at SR 15 and West 600 North and went into the intersection, striking Klug’s southbound vehicle on SR 15. Damages: up to $50,000
Tuesday, April 1, 6:55 p.m. North SR 15 and West Levi Lee Road, Warsaw. Driver: Helen E. McIntosh, 59, North 400 East, Leesburg. McIntosh was southbound on SR 15 when she struck a deer. Damages: up to $2,500
Tuesday, April 1, 7:07 a.m. East 200 North and US 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Fernando Gomez, 45, Dennis Court, Plymouth; and Devin M. Lenefestey, 17, North 175 East, Warsaw. Lenefestey was stopped at the CR 200 North and US 30 intersection for a red light when he began to move forward while the light was still red and rear-ended Gomez’s vehicle. Damages: up to $1,000

Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Tuesday, April 1, 5:22 p.m. 617 South Buffalo Street. Drivers: Amanda S. Tolson, 24, South 350 East, Warsaw; and Shanna M. Story, 53, North Michigan Street, Argos. After attempting to make a southbound turn onto Buffalo Street from the Good To-Go BP Gas Station parking lot, Tolson attempted backing up and struck Story who was waiting to exit the parking lot behind her. Damages: up to $2,500
Tuesday, April 1, 2:23 p.m. North 150 West. Drivers: Unknown; and Jarrod T. Feldman, 18, Legacy Lane, Winona Lake. Feldman was traveling north on North 150 West when he was sideswiped by a semi-trailer. Both Feldman and the semi driver proceeded and Feldman notified police of the accident after arriving to his destination and discovering damages to his vehicle. Damages: up to $5,000
Tuesday, April 1, 12:58 p.m. East Market and South Buffalo streets. Drivers: Sara A. Satterfield, 70, EMS B33 Lane, Warsaw; and Brandon L. Creighton, 42, Oriole Drive, Warsaw. Satterfield was traveling east on West Market Street when disregarded a red light and struck into Creighton, who was southbound on South Buffalo Street. Damages: up to $10,000
Tuesday, April 1, 10:23 a.m. East Market and South Detroit streets. Drivers: Jose L. Ruiz-Lopez, 22, North West Street, Warsaw; and Sue A. Bradway, 71, East 225 South, Warsaw. Both Ruiz-Lopez and Bradway were stopped for a red light when Ruiz-Lopez began backing up his vehicle to make room for a semi making a turn, causing him to hit Bradway’s vehicle that was stopped behind him. Damages: up to $2,500
