Etna Green Community Garden Seeking Grant
The Etna Green Community Garden, located in Etna Green, has entered the Seeds of Change® Grant Program for an opportunity to receive one of two $20,000 or one of 15 $10,000 grants.
The grants will be awarded to organizations that help support and develop sustainable, community-based gardening and farming programs that focus on teaching people where their food comes from and the delicious ways it can end up on your plate. The Seeds of Change® Grant Program works to enhance the environmental, economic and social well-being of gardens, farms, farmers and communities.
Etna Green Community Garden submitted an application explaining how they would use a grant to achieve its goals and is now asking the community for support through the public voting phase on Facebook.com/seedsofchange and at www.seedsofchangegrant.com.
From now through April 21, visitors will have an opportunity to vote once per day for the organization they feel most deserves a grant based on the organization’s demonstration of how the grant would help it to achieve its goals. After voting closes, the top 50 organizations with the most votes will move on to a final judging phase, after which the grant recipients will be announced on or about May 5.
Funding for the Seeds of Change® Grant Program comes from the “1 Percent Fund,” the company’s commitment to donate one percent of net sales to support community-based nutrition, gardening and farming programs.
