Evelyn Wittig, 82, of Pierceton, Ind., passed away on Monday, April 7, 2014, at her home.

She was born on Sept. 12, 1933, in East Chicago, Ind., to Lucian and Jennie (Zebrewska) Napwocki. She graduated from Washington High School in East Chicago, Ind., and was married on Jan. 5, 1952, in East Chicago, Ind., to Robert P. ‘Bob’ Wittig who survives.

She was a homemaker and moved to the Pierceton area in 1972 from Hammond, Ind. She enjoyed making ceramics and was an avid reader.

She is survived by her husband; a daughter: Barbara (Tom) Pasko, Pierceton; son: Robert (Andrea) Wittig Jr. of Mason, Mich.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

There will be no public services at this time. Private family burial will take place at a later date. Owen Family Funeral Home, SR 13 and CR 500 N., North Webster, Ind., is in charge of all arrangements.

Memorial bequest may be given to American Heart Association, 6100 W. 96th St., Indianapolis, IN 46278. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
