Gary K. O’Dell
Gary K. O’Dell, 69, of Pierceton, Ind., passed away at 11:01 a.m. Sunday, April 6, 2014, in Warsaw Meadows Care Center, Warsaw, Ind.
On Aug. 12, 1944, he was born in Imboden, Ark., to Sidney L. and Madge (Smith) O’Dell. A lifelong resident of Pierceton, Ind., he graduated from Pierceton High School in 1963. Gary served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict.
He worked as a truck driver for Castle Steel in the Chicago area, retiring in 2009. Gary also was a member and served as past commander of American Legion Post #258, Pierceton.
He is survived by three children: Angela, Arizona; Gwen, Kentucky; Logan, Wyoming; his sister: Sylvia Deeter, Warsaw; two brothers: Brooks O’Dell, North Manchester, Ind.; Bill O’Dell; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother: Randall O’Dell.
A celebration of life will be at 11 a.m, Saturday, April 26, in Brower Park, Pierceton with Chaplain Jerry Hartman officiating and military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post #258, Pierceton and The Patriot Guard. Arrangements are entrusted to McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton.
