Old Train Depot Hosts MDA Benefit
On Saturday, March 29, The Old Train Depot opened its doors, brought in some great bands, and hosted an event to raise funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The event was free but offered a silent auction and 50/50 raffle to raise funds to fight muscle disease!
The event raised $850 to benefit local individuals living with muscular dystrophy, ALS and related progressive muscle diseases in Kosciusko County. Joe Frush, managing partner at The Old Train Depot said, “We want to make this an annual event to help MDA. This year we came up with the idea to do something and put it all together in about 3 weeks. With more time to plan the event, hopefully we can raise more next year!”
There were four bands that played and donated their time at the event, which included Pottsie’s Pastime Band, 1 more Shot, Douglas Haines and Papa Jack. Additionally, there were many community partners that helped to make this event possible. Nelson Beverage, Clothing Carousel, Village Antique Galleries, Blue Pearl Antiques, Walmart and Martin’s Supermarket all donated items to help make the evening a success.
The Old Train Depot is a refurbished 1867 train depot offering family dining, a bar area and an event room for special occasions. They are opened Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
