Early Voting Begins Today
Early voting, also known as absentee voting, will begin at 8 a.m. today at the Kosciusko County Clerk’s office, located in the Kosciusko County Justice Building at 121 N. Lake St., Warsaw.
The Early Voting Office will be open from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and noon to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, through May 2. The Early Voting Office will be closed, however, on Friday, April 18, in observance of Good Friday.
Saturday hours from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. will also be available on April 26 and May 3. Final absentee voting hours will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Monday, May 5.
Kosciusko County Republican Chairman Randy Girod said candidates and precinct committeemen are encouraged to vote early, especially if they might possibly have hectic schedules that might cause them to be called away from the area, or become otherwise engaged, on Primary election day which is May 6.
Early voters will need to bring their government-issued photo IDs with them when they go to vote. Girod said early voting “… is very convenient and affords a voter the chance to secure their vote, without having to be concerned about missing, for whatever reason, the opportunity to vote on Primary election day.”
In addition, absentee voting by mail and absentee voting by traveling absentee board will also be available to voters. Interested voters should contact the Kosciusko County Clerk’s office at 574-372-2331 for details.
