Fairfield Star Kieper Inks With Grace
WINONA LAKE – All-Conference guard Jenna Kieper has decided to continue her basketball career at Grace College in 2014-15.
Kieper, a 5-foot-7 guard from Fairfield High School, was named the team’s MVP as a junior and senior. She led Fairfield to a 9-1 record in the Northeast Corner Conference as a senior, winning All-NECC honors in the process.
After averaging 10.6 points and 3.8 rebounds per game as a junior, Kieper upped her production to 14.4 ppg during her senior season. She was an honorable mention for the IBCA Senior All-State Team.
“I love everything about Grace College. It is the perfect place for me to learn and grow in my faith while playing basketball,” Kieper said. “I am very thankful and excited for the opportunity that God has given me, and I’m ready to work hard to become a better player at Grace.”
Kieper also won several letters at Fairfield on the cross country and track teams. She served as team captain of the cross country team as a junior and senior, helping Fairfield qualify for regionals three years. On the track team, Kieper qualified for regionals in the 4×800-meter relay event.
“Jenna [Kieper] is going to give us more depth at the guard position. She plays with poise and confidence,” said Grace head coach Scott Blum. “Jenna loves the game of basketball and also has a love for the Lord. We are thankful that she chose Grace, and we’re looking forward to seeing her grow in basketball and in her walk with the Lord during her four years.”
Kieper, who resides in Goshen, Ind., was a member of the National Honor Society and was also the school’s salutatorian. She is the daughter of Dave and Karen Kieper.
“Jenna [Kieper] has put a lot of time into improving her game in high school, so it is no surprise that she is playing college basketball,” said Fairfield coach Brodie Garber. She made an excellence choice by attending Grace College.”
