Award Winning Dance Troupe Presents Concert
Class Act Dance Troupe brings their award-winning pieces to the Warsaw Community High School Performing Arts Center on Saturday, April 26, at 3 p.m.
This non-profit performing company was created in 1986 to provide students with additional opportunities to utilize their dance training and has grown into much more. The company of 22 students, ages 9 to 18, has performed for such events as Walt Disney World’s Magic Music Days, the Legacy program in New York City and for the Harlem Globetrotters, as well as focusing on community involvement through local performances.
“This concert will showcase the artistry, talent and dedication of our students”, says CADT director Tammy Seibold. “We have everything from a dynamic jazz duet created by Chicago-based choreographer Jeremy Plummer, to a classical ballet production by Kristina Collier and a high energy tap to the song ‘Ladies Choice’ from Hairspray. There is truly something for everyone in this show.”
Seibold continues, “Our students are passionate about dance and it shows in every moment. You can feel their intensity as they portray the impact of bullying and negativity in ‘They Don’t Care About Us,’ then with just as much conviction they switch to the comedic frenzy of ‘Coffee In A Cardboard Cup.’ As the show unfolds, you will be amazed by the versatility of these dancers.”
Tickets may be purchased at the door or at Debra Collier’s School of Dance
574-267-7055. Proceeds from the performance benefit the CADT scholarship fund. For more information regarding the troupe or to schedule a performance, contact Tammy Seibold at the number listed above or visit our website at collierdance.com.
