Eagles Topple Tigers
WARSAW – Columbia City erupted for 17 runs in the final two innings to outscore Warsaw 20-9 in a non-conference softball contest Saturday.
The Tigers led 4-3 before the Eagles plated eight runs in the fourth frame and nine more in the fifth inning for the win.
Kaleigh Speicher led the Tigers with two hits and three RBI.
Warsaw (0-4) hosts Wawasee today in its Northern Lakes Conference opener at 5 p.m.
Abby Glass delivered the game winning hit as the Warsaw junior varsity edged Columbia City 16-15.
Sara Shoemaker had three hits to lead the JV Tigers, now 2-2. Winning pitcher Heather Cox had two hits, as did Glass and Morgan Ashtari.
