Whitko Baseball Team Rolls On
GARRETT – The Whitko baseball team continued its winning ways Saturday.
The Wildcats lit up the scoreboard for 22 runs in taking a twin bill from host Garrett.
Whitko won the opener 12-0 in six innings and then rallied from a six-run deficit to claim the nightcap 10-8.
Ethan Nicodemus led the Wildcats in the opener by firing a three-hitter on the hill for the pitching win.
Tanner Gaff paced the offense in the opener with a 3-4 effort at the dish with two RBI. Alex Bechtold was 2-2 with two RBI, Hunter Sroufe 2-3 with two RBI and Zach Snep 2-4 for the winners.
The Wildcats fell behind 6-0 in the second game before coming back for the win. Whitko plated three runs in both the sixth and seventh innings to earn the sweep.
Austin Sturgess led Whitko with two hits in the second game. Snep collected the pitching win in relief.
Whitko, now 8-1, plays at West Noble Monday at 5:30 p.m.
