Whitko Sports Wrap – April 22
The Whitko baseball team dropped its second game in two nights Tuesday.
The host Wildcats came up on the short end of a 2-0 loss to Peru in non-conference action.
Peru plated both runs in the fourth inning to earn the win.
Losing pitcher Tanner Gaff did not allow an earned run for the Wildcats. He struck out six and walked one in a complete game.
The Wildcats committed three errors in the loss.
Avery Robbins went 3-3 to lead the offense for Whitko.
Whitko, now 8-3, plays at Lakeland Friday at 5 p.m.
Softball Team Loses
Walks and errors proved costly to the Whitko softball team Tuesday night.
The host Wildcats dropped a 13-1 final to Huntington North in five innings.
The Vikings took advantage of 11 walks by Whitko pitching and four errors by the hosts.
Aly Nicodemus had a triple for the Wildcats.
Whitko plays at Central Noble tonight at 5 p.m.
JV Softball Team Rolls
The Whitko junior varsity softball team won 33-0 at Tippecanoe Valley on Tuesday.
Andrea Snavley was the winning pitcher for the JV Wildcats.
Whitko hosts Central Noble Friday at 5 p.m.
