Triton Slips Past Squires
The Triton softball team made an early lead stand up for another win Thursday night.
The Trojans scored a pair of runs in the first inning and went on to edge Manchester 3-2.
Triton scored two in the first frame on a groundout by Megan Berger and an RBI base hit by Allyson Brown.
Berger led the winners with two RBI. Lexee Lemler had two hits and Mallorie Jennings a double for the Trojans.
Junior Brycelyn Garbison turned in a strong pitching performance for the winners. She allowed just four hits, while walking one and striking out 10.
Garbison worked out of several jams as the host Trojans committed six errors in the contest.
Triton improves to 7-1 on the season, while Manchester drops to 3-3.
Triton plays a key Northern State Conference game at Bremen Friday.
