Whitko Sports Wrap – April 24
The duo of Brady Herendeen and Alex Morales led the way for Whitko in a boys track win Thursday night.
Herendeen and Morales were each double winners as the Wildcats topped Southwood 79-53.
Herendeen won the long jump with a top effort 18-10 and placed first in the 200 in 23.5. Morales took top honors in both hurdles races, winning the 110 in 15.9 and the 300 in 42.4.
Other winners for the Wildcats were Jacob Helton in the pole vault (8-6), Will Bumbaugh in the 100 (11.9), Garrett Elder in the 400 (55.3) and Josh Wright in the 3,200 (11:22.8).
Whitko also won both the 400 and 1,600 relay events.
Whitko Ladies Win On Track
A strong team performance carried the Whitko girls track team past Southwood 70-62.
Elaine Warner led the way for the winners with first-place efforts in both the long jump and the 300 hurdles.
Kaitlyn Reed won the 100 and Miranda Terrill captured first in the high jump for Whitko.
The duo of Reghan Craig and Michelle Kelsey tied for first in the pole vault.
