Gregory Earl Rex
Gregory Earl Rex, 60, of Russell Springs, Ky., passed away April 23, 2014, in his home.
He was born Aug. 24, 1953, in Ligonier, Ind., to Richard Ralph Rex and Earlis Mowat Rex. He graduated from West Noble in 1974, where he played football for 4 years as an offensive guard and defensive; and wrestled 4 years at 165 pounds. He retired from the Union of Operating Engineers Local 103.
He is survived by his wife: Linda Sharon (Slone) Rex; his three daughters: Brandie (Larry) Morrow, Pierceton, Ind.; Heather Rex, Ligonier, Ind.; and Lacy (Steven) Elmer, Cincinnati, Ohio; a stepdaughter: April Golden, Syracuse, Ind.; 10 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter; his brother: Richard (Donna) Rex; and numerous aunts, cousins and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a stepson: Clint Hursey.
The funeral service was held on April 26 at the Hindman Funeral Services Chapel and burial was in the Slone Family Cemetery in Pinetop, Ky.
A memorial service to commemorate his life will be held at the Rock Church, 9564 E. 1050, Cromwell, Ind., at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 3. Bringing a dish and sharing a story is not required, but encouraged.
