Ligonier Boy Killed In Accidental Shooting
Police are calling the death of a 7-year-old Ligonier boy a tragic accident.
The Noble County Sheriff’s Department says officers responded to a 911 call just before 12:30 p.m. Saturday from 5211 W. 1100 N., Ligonier. Upon arrival at the residence, they found Jaylin Miller, 7, deceased as the result of a single gun shot wound.
Police say the boy and his brother were outside shooting ground moles with the gun when it accidentally discharged and struck Jaylin. He died at the scene.
Noble County police and the Noble County coroner investigated the incident and determined the shooting was accidental.
Also assisting in the response was the Ligonier City Police Department and Noble County EMS.
