First Friday Is ‘Musical May’
First Friday in downtown Warsaw will be blooming with the sounds of brass, guitars, drums and so many other musical tones as the event celebrates “Musical May.”
On May 2, the entire downtown area will be filled with music. Center Stage will be spotlighted with the Bourbon Backroads Band. The band, made up of Amanda Scarberry on vocals and guitar, Jerry Kramer on vocals and lead guitar, Bruce Knouff on bass guitar and Barry Eppley on drums, focus their talents on classic rock and country music.
Bourbon Backroads Band will play from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Also providing entertainment as part of Musical May, the Warsaw Community High School jazz and pep bands will perform on the courthouse steps from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. The bands are under the direction of Mickey Ratliff.
At 7 p.m., also on the courthouse steps, Lakeland Community Choir and Youth Chorale will offer powerful voices under the direction of Dr. Ardis Faber and Dr. Judie Meulink. The choirs are part of the Warsaw Classic Arts Program and is beginning its 30th year in the community.
The Matchseller’s, a nationally traveled and locally grown folk and bluegrass duo will perform in front of Creative Floral on Buffalo Street from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Traverse a bit further south to Buffalo and Market streets and you will hear the sweet music of Adrienne Fraley. Fraley is a local singer-songwriter focusing on folk-indie and Americana music performed on her guitar and keyboard. She will perform by Indiana Antique Company from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
In additional to musical entertainment, local dance troupes will perform in the streets all evening.
Vendors will feature all kinds of food and wares throughout the downtown area.
Come out from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday in downtown Warsaw and enjoy the Musical May theme of First Friday.
