Tapping is a Feel-good Technique
Angie Hernandez, certified Hypnotherapist, is presenting a popular class on a tapping technique known as Emotional Freedom Technique. “I like Tapping because it’s easy to learn and you can use it on your own to heal trauma and pain.” Hernandez says, “You can go to a practitioner for complex problems but you can get relief on your own.” The class is from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on May 7, in the Syracuse Library meeting room.
According to Nick Ortner, author of The Tapping Solution, EFT is a type of Meridian Tapping that combines ancient Chinese acupressure and modern psychology. From pain relief, to healing childhood traumas, to clearing limiting financial beliefs, to weight loss, body image and food cravings, to fears and phobias, Tapping is proving to be a powerful, well-researched and easy to learn and apply technique. Tapping utilizes the body’s energy meridian points by stimulating them with your fingertips.
YA Book Club is Making Kinetic Snakes
Teens are getting a head start on summer by constructing a line of tongue depressors. The Syracuse library has 2000 sticks that when joined create a chain-reaction event. Teens can try it now and again this summer when we “Spark a Reaction”. Visiting the group is a person that has played Dungeons & Dragons for several years. This exciting meeting is at 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, and as always, there are treats and new books.
Cemetery Tours Continue
The library and the Syracuse-Wawasee Historical Museum have tour booklets for a visit to the Syracuse Cemetery. The booklet is a guide with biographies to encourage observation of objects in the cemetery. Symbols can be recognized in some fairly broad and generalized ways. The biographies mainly are from the oldest section and it is easy to observe period differences in styles and resources.
