Wildcats Top Trojans
BOURBON – The Whitko baseball team outscored Triton 14-13 in a non-conference baseball game Tuesday.
The Wildcats plated 11 runs in the second inning to take a 14-1 lead and then held on to edge the host Trojans in a windy and wild one.
The two teams combined for 23 hits in the contest.
The host Trojans scored five runs in the second frame and six more in the fourth inning to pull within one run.
Garrett Smiley homered and drove in three runs to lead the way for the winning Wildcats.
Zach Snep had two hits and three RBI for Whitko. Ethan Nicodemus and Austin Sturgess each had two hits and two RBI for the winners.
Jayden Hargrave slugged a homer and drove in four runs to pace Triton.
Landon Kaufman had three hits and two RBI for the Trojans. Ben Perkins and Cole Creighbaum each had two hits for the hosts.
Whitko improves to 9-4 on the season. Triton is now 2-8.
The Wildcats play at TRC foe Southwood today. The Trojans face conference foe Jimtown in Elkhart today.
