Coyotes For Charity Donate To Cancer Society
The Coyotes for Charity hunters from Kosciusko, Fulton, Marshall, Miami, Wabash, Grant, Howard, Carroll, Cass and Huntington counties harvested 310 coyotes this past season. The pelts were prepared for auction by Larry Frank and Terry Manley, who is a U.S. receiving agent for North American Fur Auctions in Toronto, Canada, where the pelts were sent.
This is the 11th year for Coyotes for Charity, which started in 2004 with four hunters harvesting five coyotes. This year, over 120 hunters participated. All money raised is matched by the Square D Foundation through the Relay for Life campaign, as well as a generous Miami county resident, and donated to the American Cancer Society. Over the 11 years of the program, 1,592 coyotes have been harvested and over $37,200 has been donated.
