Triton Sports Wrap – May 6
The duo of Mallorie Jennings and Brycelyn Garbison combined to pitch Triton to a softball win Tuesday night.
The pair combined on a two-hitter as the host Trojans topped John Glenn 6-1 in a Northern State Conference game.
Jennings went the first four innings to notch the win. She allowed two hits with one walk and five strikeouts. Garbison pitched the final three frames, giving up no hits with three strikeouts.
Halie Zimmerman led the offense with two hits, including a double.
Allyson Brown had two hits and two RBI and Garbison also drove in two runs for Triton.
Triton plays at NSC foe Knox Wednesday.
Tennis Team Victorious
The Triton girls tennis team got a strong comeback effort from its top doubles team to edge Knox 3-2 Tuesday.
The No. 1 duo of Holly Stogsdill and Carrie Slabaugh rallied for a 2-6, 6-2, 6-1 win to give the Trojans the conference road win.
Kaelyn Mason rolled to a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles for Triton. Kylie Mason posted a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles for the Trojans.
Triton, now 8-2 overall and 3-1 in the NSC, will host league foe Jimtown Thursday.
Knox won the junior varsity action by a 6-0 final.
