GOSHEN – Gavin Bussard made sure that the Tippecanoe Valley baseball team got off to a good start Tuesday.

Bussard socked a leadoff home run to propel the Vikings past Bethany Christian 10-0 in six innings.

Jay Myers notched the pitching win with a three-hitter on the hill with five strikeouts for Valley.

Eric Hammer paced the 13-hit attack for the Vikings with three hits, including two doubles. He also drove in two runs for the winners.

Jarred Littlejohn and Brandon Webster each had two hits for Valley.

The Vikings, who are now 10-7,  host North Miami tonight.

Bethany Christian falls to 1-11 on the season.
