TVHS Names Valedictorian, Salutatorian
Tippecanoe Valley High School has announced the 2014 valedictorian and salutatorian, Kelsey Ball, daughter of Joseph and Lena Ball; and Nolan Sponseller, son of Bryan and Lisa Sponseller, respectively.
Kelsey Ball plans to attend Indiana University Bloomington’s Kelley School of Business. She plans to double major in finance and accounting.
Kelsey has been an active leader serving in the Kosciusko Youth Leadership Academy, National Honor Society, Key Club, Sunshine Society, Challenge Leaders and Prom Committee. She has received awards for her involvement in TVHS athletics such as volleyball, basketball and tennis. TVHS would like to recognize Kelsey for her example of outstanding academic and leadership success.
Nolan will be attending Taylor University this fall to study developmental economics with a minor in accounting or finance. Nolan plans to run track at Taylor as well. His career goals include serving with a nonprofit business field.
Nolan is also a 2014 Lilly Endowment Scholar. He has been an active leader serving with Phish (Dekko Foundation), KEYS (Kosciusko Endowment Youth Services), student council, Habitat for Humanity, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), National Honor Society, KYLA (Kosciusko Youth Leadership Academy), 4-H, prom committee, Key Club and Future Farmers of America.
Nolan has received awards for his involvement in TVHS athletics such as football and track. TVHS would like to recognize Nolan for his example of outstanding academic and leadership success.
The top TVHS 2014 graduates in order are Diana Baca, Shelby Baker, Kelsey Ball, Robyn Dunnuck, Uyen Nguyen, Elizabeth Shepherd, Benjamin Shriver, Nolan Sponseller, Joshua Tucker, Joshua Warren and Ericka Webb.
Parents and senior students are invited to attend the senior breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Monday, June 2, at the TVHS auxiliary gym. Senior Awards will take place at 8:30 a.m. Monday, June 2, in the TVHS varsity gym and graduation will begin at 1 p.m. with baccalaureate beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 8, in TVHS varsity gym. The commencement ceremony will begin at 2:45 p.m.
