Farmers Market Seeks Nonprofit Vendors
The Kosciusko County Farmers Market is inviting not-for-profit organizations to join the market in the Warsaw City Hall Plaza for a fundraising opportunity on the second Saturday of each month, May through October.
Tomorrow, the Classic Arts Program is the featured guest at the market, which opens at 8 a.m. and continues until 1 p.m.
The Classic Arts program is the parent organization for the Lakeland Community Choir, which is celebrating its 30th year in the community, and the Lakeland Youth Chorale. The group will be serving Holy Smokes BBQ from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the city hall plaza. The Youth Chorale will also be performing during the same time.
The Kosciusko County Farmers Market opened last week with a great turnout of 12 vendors. They brought fresh vegetables, potted plants, cut flowers, hand crafted soaps and lotions, wood crafts, jams and jellies, homemade bread and homegrown meats. “It is a wonderful place to shop and chat with our local growers,” said Paula Bowman.
The vendors numbers and products will also be growing throughout the season as the weather warms up and the produce fills their gardens. “It’s a fun place to meet your friends to shop and, this week, have lunch,” Bowman added.
The Kosciusko County Farmers Market is held each Saturday in downtown Warsaw in the 100 block of Center Street and in the city hall plaza. It is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Bowman said there is still one “2nd Saturday in the Plaza” month open for a not for profit to utilize. If any one is interested, call Bowman at 574-376-0233.
