Wildcats Best Bellmont
SOUTH WHITLEY – The Whitko baseball team was productive at the plate consistently Friday night.
The host Wildcats scored in each of the first five innings in defeating Bellmont 8-6.
Whitko got going right away with three runs in the home half of the first inning.
Ethan Nicodemus paced the 11-hit attack for the winners with two hits. He slugged a home run and also had a stolen base in the win.
Austin Sturgess went 2-3 with an RBI for the winners.
Avery Robbins threw three strong innings in relief to notch the pitching win. Robbins allowed just one earned run in three innings to get the victory.
Whitko, now 14-6, plays at Northfield in a conference game tonight at 5 p.m.
