Collier’s School Of Dance Hosts Summer Classes
The summer programs at Debra Collier’s School of Dance feature exciting dance and theme camps along with an intro to dance class, get up and dance, hip hop and teen-beginner classes. From camps with the studio’s own princess to workshops with nationally-known master teachers, the studio has something for everyone.
The 6-week summer program offers classes for dancers ages 18 months and up, including mommy and me, tiny tots, get up and dance, beginning ballet for teens, hip hop and beginning tap for teens. Boogie ’til you drop, a free community program for students ages 16 and up with developmental challenges, is also available. Adults can enjoy private or duet sessions with a certified pilates instructor or private ballroom classes.
For more than a decade the studio’s summer dance camps have been a community favorite. This season’s camps include pretty princess camp, Snow White camp, Rapunzel Barbie camp, cheer camp and their new glamour and glitz camp. Full descriptions, dates and details for the camps can be found on the studio’s website, collierdance.com.
DCSD has a long history of providing opportunities for their students to learn from master teachers from across the country. This summer they are excited to have both Melissa Anderson, from the University of Milwaukee Wisconsin, and Indianapolis-based choreographer Diane Gudat teaching master classes. The studio is also offering new modern and contemporary intensives with DCSD alumnus and Western Michigan University BFA dance major Sarah Mills.
