Rain Again Affecting Prep Sports
It’s raining. So, of course, prep sports are being moved around again.
First up is Wawasee, which postponed its baseball and softball games with Northridge. The JV and varsity softball games at Northridge as well as the JV and varsity baseball games at Wawasee both have not been given a make-up date. The games were originally scheduled for Wednesday, May 14, and were moved to today, which now will have a future date.
The Northern Lakes Conference girls tennis tournament is moving into its second day and will continue to be played at the Warsaw Racquet Club. Warsaw athletic director Dave Anson reported that matches will begin as soon as available players are present on a first come, first serve basis. Priority will be given to the four courts that were unable to start Wednesday. The NLC tournament will again be played Friday in Warsaw. If necessary, Concord will host any matches that need to be finished in a Saturday scenario.
Warsaw has called off its baseball and softball games for Thursday, as well. The baseball games at NorthWood and home softball games with the Lady Panthers have not been given a new make-up date. Warsaw is still holding its boys golf matches at Stonehenge with visiting Elkhart Memorial and Plymouth.
