No. 5 Raiders Roll Past Tigers
WARSAW – The Northridge softball team handed host Warsaw a 13-0 loss Friday evening.
Haley Nixon fired a two-hitter as the Class 4-A No. 5 Raiders rolled in the five-inning Northern Lakes Conference contest.
The Raiders, who defeated the Tigers 24-2 earlier in the season, had 13 hits in the win.
Nixon, who struck out seven, went 4-4 with two RBI as the Raiders improved to 17-2 overall and 10-1 in NLC play.
Northridge, which has advanced to the semi state round of the state tournament each of the past two seasons, also got a pair of doubles from Brianne O’Dell and Hannah Kistler. O’Dell slugged two grand slam home runs and drove in 10 runs the first time the two teams played this season.
Kara Dishman and Alexa Glass each had a hit for Warsaw, which committed eight errors in the loss.
Whitney Sleeth took the pitching loss for Warsaw, now 6-12 overall and 5-6 in conference play.
Warsaw hosts its own Tiger Tournament today. The Tigers then play at NLC foe Concord on Monday.
