Whitko Takes Two On Diamond
SOUTH WHITLEY – The Whitko baseball team took two from Prairie Heights Saturday.
The Wildcats swept the twin bill by scores of 4-3 and 8-3.
Whitko won the opener as Tanner Gaff delivered an RBI single in the final inning for the game winner.
Gaff also notched the pitching win in the opener for the Wildcats.
Ethan Nicodemus, who scored the winning run, went 3-3 with two doubles and two runs scored. Riley Anderson slugged a home run and Zach Snep doubled for Whitko.
The Wildcats took the nightcap as Nicodemus had two hits, including a triple, and drove in two runs.
Winning pitcher Avery Robbins went 2-3. Hunter Sroufe tripled and Snep had two hits and Gaff a double in the win.
Whitko improves to 18-9 on the season, while Prairie Heights falls to 16-9.
The Wildcats play at Bethany Christian Monday at 1 p.m.
