Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department
Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accident:
Wednesday, June 11, 5:26 a.m. North 150 West, Warsaw. Driver: Darrell E. Young, 46, North 150 West, Warsaw. Police were dispatched to a personal injury accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. Young stated that he had just left his residence and was traveling southbound on CR 150 West when a man in dark clothing stepped out in front of him, and though he tried to swerve, he struck the man, later identified as Michael Keener, 22, with the right side of his vehicle. Young then struck into a fence post and then a utility pole. Young then left his vehicle and, while calling 911, went to check on Keener who was unresponsive. Keener was transported to Lutheran Hospital in critical condition but ultimately passed away from injuries sustained in the crash.
Warsaw Police Department
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Wednesday, June 11, 8:03 a.m. 332 N. Buffalo Street. Driver: Ava E. Donovan, 20, Kuder Lane, Warsaw. Police were dispatch to a report of a car submerged in Center Lake approximately 150 feet from the shoreline. Police performed a recovery with fire rescue and the dive team and discovered the car to be empty. Dispatch then spoke to Tanner Spangle in reference to the vehicle who informed that the driver of the vehicle, his girlfriend Ava Donovan was home and well. Donovan admitted after police questioning that she had consumed a beer before driving during the evening and while changing music on her phone, drove into the lake by accident. Donovan stated she was able to escape the vehicle unharmed and then walked home soaking wet where she proceeded to consume more alcohol and failed to report the accident. Damages: up to $10,000
