John A. Eich, 78, of Pierceton, Ind., passed away at 4 a.m. Thursday, June 12, 2014, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, Ind.

He was born on June 17, 1935, in Toledo, Ohio, to Albert and Martha (Peters) Eich. He married Patricia Kantner in May 1965.

He was a U.S. Marine veteran. John retired from Toledo Edison as a lineman. He was a member of the local Union 245 for 52 years.

John is survived by his children: Matthew R. Eich, Bryan, Ohio; Teresa A. (Steve) Palmero, Knoxville, Tenn.; Thomas J. Eich, Fort Wayne, Ind.; Anne M. (Brent) Hug, Fort Wayne, Ind.; James R. (Jeanie) Eich, Woodburn, Ind.; and Christopher J. Eich, Montpelier, Ohio; brothers: Stephen (Sue) Eich, Swanton, Ohio; and Joseph (Sharon) Eich, Toledo, Ohio; sisters: Judy McIntyre, Corona, Calif.; Mary Riddle, Maumee, Ohio; and Jane Eich, Corona, Calif.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son and one sister.

There will be a celebration of John’s life at a later date. No burial is planned.
