Lakes Festival Concludes This Weekend
WINONA LAKE, Ind. – The Northern Indiana Lakes Festival is ramping up for its closing weekend this Saturday and Sunday in Warsaw and Winona Lake.
Organized by the Center for Lakes & Streams at Grace College, the Lakes Festival is full of events and activities on the shores of local lakes and sometimes in the lakes themselves.
After a week of lake-related events around the county, the festival continues this Saturday at Central Park in Warsaw. The popular live animal show and 5,000 gallon aquarium will be back this year. New events will include a flyboard demonstration and appearances by characters from Star Wars. There will also be giveaways, including a free stand up paddleboard, that attendees can participate in by visiting education and vendor booths.
The Sunday portion of the festival will be at The Village at Winona in Winona Lake. Since it is Father’s Day there will be fun activities for fathers to do with their kids, including a Build-A-Boat Workshop and MudLOVE bands for dads running with sons and daughters in the 5K.
Admission to the festival is free. For a full schedule of events happening this weekend go to lakesfestival.org.
This year’s top sponsors include Biomet, DePuy Synthes, Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. and Zimmer.
