Furnivall, Kitson In All-Star Action
GRANVILLE, OHIO – A pair of former local track standouts turned in strong performances Saturday for the Indiana All-Star team.
The duo of Gabe Furnivall from Warsaw and Cameron Kitson from Fairfield competed in the Midwest Meet of Champions held at Denison University and Granville High School.
Furnivall earned a ninth-place finish in the 400 with a time of 51.71. Lane White of Ohio won the event in 48.03.
Furnivall, who helped his Warsaw squad win conference, sectional and regional championships this spring, competed in three events at the IHSAA State Finals last weekend at Indiana University.
Kitson was sixth in the 110 hurdles Saturday with a time of 15.10. Steele Wasik of Ohio won the race in a top time of 14.07.
Kitson, who competed in the hurdles at the State Finals June 7, was also a member of the third place 4 X 100 relay team that finished with a time of 43.14. A team from Ohio won the event in 41.58.
Scott Lancaster, the boys and girls track coach at Wawasee High School, was a member of the coaching staff for the Indiana All-Star team.
