Panthers Tee It Up At State
FRANKLIN – The NorthWood boys golf program made its debut at the State Finals Tuesday.
The Panthers shot 318 in the opening round of the season finale at The Legends Golf Club.
NorthWood sits in a tie for ninth place in the team standings. Columbus North shot 299 Tuesday to lead the 15-team field.
Junior Alec Dutkowski and senior Logan Kauffman each toured the course in a two-over par round of 74 to pace the Panthers. Dutkowski had four birdies on the day, while Kauffman had a pair.
Senior Brayden Glaser shot an 84, while junior Matt Ely came in with an 86 and sophomore Hayden Klotz a 90 for NorthWood. Glaser had two birdies in his opening round and Ely had one.
The Panthers shot 305 last Thursday to win the Warsaw Regional title at the Stonehenge Golf Club in Winona Lake to earn their first-ever trip to the State Finals.
NorthWood will begin its final round Wednesday at 9:21 a.m.
