Creating a Vision Board Workshop
Vision boards are a popular way to make visual and written statements to remind ourselves of positive goals in our lives.
Adults are invited to a goal setting workshop conducted by certified hypnotherapist Angie Hernandez from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 25. The Syracuse Library is hosting a free workshop to create a vision board with pictures from magazines and with the guidance of Hernandez. Supplies are provided, but participants are welcome to bring magazines that can be cut apart.
Summer Reading for Youth
Terrific Tuesday at Two children are having fun in the sun with a bouncy-house and wet slide. It is a time for wet and wild swimsuit fun. Tea Time Thursday, which is held at 2 p.m., explores the science theme of crunchy and chunky. Please register so Miss Gisela will know how many places to set. Reading to the big black dog, Echo, continues, so be sure to reserve a time at 2 p.m. on Mondays.
Young adults and any others are invited to explore cemeteries and the meaning of death. Karen Kelsheimer, Syracuse-Wawasee Historical Museum director will lead a demonstration about collecting and interpreting cemetery information to create a graph that shows trends. Visit this program in the meeting room at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 25.
Finish the week with a movie that could have you on cloud nine. Friday Family films are at 10 a.m.
Book Club Reads a Story From the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency Series
One book, One Hour, the adult book club, is meeting to discuss Alexander McCall Smith’s fourth book in the series, The Kalahari Typing School for Men. Mccall Smith was born in Zimbabwe and taught law at the University of Botswana before moving to Edinburgh and writing the number one ladies detective agency stories. The discussion begins at 6:30 p.m. in the meeting room. Information is available at the library. Call 574-457-3022.
String Theory Shares Sources
String Theory is meeting so that finished and ongoing projects can be shared. The group meets from 11 p.m. to 1 p.m. on June 28. Children are welcome when accompanied with an adult. Call the library for information at 574-457-3022.
