Additional Parking Approved For Business With Condition
Kosciusko County Board of Zoning Appeals met for its regular monthly meeting Tuesday in Warsaw and among the petitions considered was one by Jeff and Roberta Holle of Tippecanoe Township. The Holles asked for an exception to allow a parking lot for overflow parking for Holle Enterprises LLC.
The property is zoned agricultural and is located on CR 800 North at the intersection with CR 600 East. Additional parking was approved by the BZA with the condition it is only used for customers and employees and not for storage of any type.
Other business included a new town of Syracuse appointee to the board being sought. After the death of John Connolly a few months ago, Jason Traycoff briefly served but was unable to continue due to other commitments. Matt Sandy, assistant planning director for the county, noted not having a Syracuse representative on the board hampers the board’s ability to reach a consensus and some petitions have to be tabled until the next meeting.
Other petitions considered by the BZA included:
• Steven Kelly’s petition for a variance to permit being allowed to modify a previously granted variance by allowing relief from a negative easement on Sleeping Beauty Lane in Turkey Creek Township was tabled until the Aug. 12 meeting. Kelly is still negotiating with an adjoining property owner.
• Bret Granger’s petition for an exception to enclose an open deck was approved, but at 5 feet from an adjoining mobile home and not 4 feet as requested on Fourth Street, east of Main Street in North Webster.

• Joseph and Angela Racolta were granted a variance to permit the construction of a new residence 25 feet from the right of way of SR 13 and 5 feet from each side line. The property is located on SR 13 in Turkey Creek Township. Approval was granted with the condition sewer service is provided to the residence and the health department approves it.
• Kevin and Dana Pahud were granted approval for a variance to have a shed built, but the other part of the petition to have a residence renovated was tabled until the August meeting. The property is located on Ogden Point Road, north of Sunrise in Turkey Creek Township.
