Plenty Of Fun At 20th Warrior Open [VIDEO]
SYRACUSE – The 20th Annual Warrior Open took place on Monday as 144 golfers combined to make 36 teams to compete in this year’s fundraising event held at Maxwelton Golf Club.
The Warrior Open is the largest fund raising event for the Wawasee High School athletic department. Funds generated from the annual event go to support the overall budget needs of the athletic department. This year’s outing provided lunch prepared by Maxwelton, sponsorships for holes and tees provided by local businesses and families and a hole-in-one contest sponsored by McCormick Motors of Nappanee.
Current Wawasee student-athletes greeted participants near the registration table while coaches and school staff were on the course manning the hole-in-one contest as well as providing drinks for golfers.
Order forms were also available for those who wanted to sign-up for the Warrior Way Walkways brick campaign. Deadline for the first order of bricks is July 11.
Five different team champions were crowned and will hold bragging rights until next year when the event will rotate back to South Shore Golf Club.
