Prince Tribute Act Playing in Rushville
RUSHVILLE – The next performance of the 2014 Rushville summer concert series is Minneapolis based The Purple Xperience (featuring two-time Grammy Award winner Matt “Doctor” Fink, former member of Prince and The Revolution) with special guests, The Headliner Band. The event is free and will be on Saturday, July 26, 2014, 7 p.m. at Riverside Park Amphitheater located at 100 W. Water St.
About The Purple Xperience: The Purple Xperience, a five-piece tribute band from Minneapolis, Minn., has been traveling around the country since February 2011. Together, the duo of former Prince and the Revolution member Matt “Doctor” Fink, who also appeared in the film Purple Rain, and Marshall Charloff bring the memories of Prince and The Revolution to audiences of every generation. With Fink winning two Grammy Awards for songwriting and Charloff serving as the front man bringing back the styles of Prince’s talent, this duo never leaves a fan disappointed. Backed by the best session players in the Twin Cities, Fink and Charloff have undoubtedly produced the most authentic re-creation of Prince and The Revolution in the world.
Formed in 2007, The Headliner Band from Columbus, Ind., brings 40 years of experience with rock shows consisting of songs from the 70s, 80s and 90s. With their hits “Need,” “Jump,” and “Gimme Some Lovin’,” The Headliner Band is a show that will keep any crowd on their feet.
Riverside Park Amphitheater is an outdoor music venue at 100 W. Water St. in Rushville, Ind. The venue is quickly becoming a great concert destination, annually hosting live music events and creating a great family-friendly environment. All performances take place on Saturday evenings, and participants are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets. Snacks and drinks are available, along with a beer garden on-site for adults over 21 years of age. Parking is conveniently available in gravel lots or in surrounding business lots with easy shuttle service to and from the amphitheater. Special handicap parking is also available.
