New U.S. 31 Segment Connects Plymouth, South Bend
A new segment of U.S. 31 between South Bend and Plymouth is slated to open soon. Indiana Department of Transportation Spokesman Will Wingfield has confirmed to Inside INdiana Business the $221 million, 15-mile stretch should open by the end of August.
INDOT says that although the new stretch of the highway will open, restrictions will remain in place while workers complete the project.
Restrictions should be lifted by the end of the year. The project is part of a bigger U.S. 31 upgrade between Indianapolis and South Bend.
