Manwaring Paces Tigers At East Noble
KENDALLVILLE – Alexis Manwaring led the way as the Warsaw girls golf team placed fifth Saturday in the East Noble Invitational.
Manwaring toured the Noble Hawk course with a round of 80 as the Tigers shot 391 as a team in the 11-team event. Manwaring finished in sixth place among individual players in the invite.
Madi Graham fired a 98 for the Tigers. Morgan Fuentes shot a 104, while Kristen Watson shot 109 and Page Desenberg 113 for coach Ray Davis’ Warsaw squad.
Linnzie Richner captured third place in the field to pace her NorthWood team to a fourth place finish. Richner shot a round of 76, including a 36 on the back nine, to pace the Panthers.
NorthWood, which won the tourney last year, shot a 366 Saturday.
Madison Richner shot a 95, Rachel Beebe 97, Baillie Richner 98 and Summer Stillson 106 for coach Adam Yoder’s NorthWood team.
DeKalb shot 353 to capture the team championship. East Noble was second with a 356, followed by Fort Wayne Dwenger (364), NorthWood (366), Warsaw (391), Concord (399), Huntington North (411), Goshen (438) and Fort Wayne Luers (450). Elkhart Central and Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian did not field complete teams.
Casey Bunner of Blackhawk Christian was individual medalist with a round of 75.
Warsaw hosts Columbia City Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Stonehenge. NorthWood competes in the Twin Lakes Invitational Monday.
