UPDATE: Subject Unresponsive In Mo-ped Crash
UPDATE: When officers arrived on scene, the found Jeffrey Hodge, 22, of Warner Drive in Claypool, lying in a parking lot at 125 W. 250 North. Hodge stated he’d gone off the roadway and crashed. A witness stated she saw the moped strike the edge of the roadway.
Hodge was transported to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne for treatment. Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, Multi-Township EMS and Plain Township Fire Department assisted on the accident.
Leesburg Fire officials, Multi-Township EMS and city and county police were called to the scene of a mo-ped crash at CR 250 East, just east of the railroad tracks near North Detroit Street, Warsaw, at about 12:25 p.m.
Dispatchers received a 911 call of the driver of a mo-ped who was unresponsive after the crash. Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, Multi-Township EMS and Plain Township Fire Department
Police on scene tell our reporter that the male subject was traveling on CR 250 East and hit either dirt or gravel, causing him to lose control of his mo-ped. The man was unconscious immediately after the crash and in an out of consciousness when emergency personnel were on scene.
The man, who police are not yet identifying, said MTEM is transporting him to Lutheran Hospital for treatment.
