Trojans Spike Bobcats
HAMLET – The Samantha Willsey era of Triton volleyball kicked off in fine fashion Thursday night.
Willsey, the first-year coach of the Trojans, directed her team to a 3-0 win at Oregon Davis.
The outstanding duo of Jaela Meister and Lauren Hostrawser provided the power at the net for the Trojans. Meister slammed down a team-high 14 kills and Hostrawser had five to go with seven solo blocks.
Triton topped the host Bobcats by a 25-22, 26-24, 25-14 final.
Becca Kennedy also had five kills and Krystal Sellers racked up 21 assists for the winners. Meister also had a team-high 13 digs on defense and Quinn Downing had four service aces and seven digs for the Trojans.
Triton won the JV match 25-12, 25-17.
The Trojans return to action by hosting John Glenn on Aug. 28.
